INTERNSHIPS

Interested in getting involved with Eastern Market Main Street (EMMS) while gaining valuable skills and experience? Consider joining our team as an intern! Interns at EMMS can expect a wide variety of experience in the organization’s day to day operations. Working with our Executive Director, interns can assist in digital marketing and social media management, content development, event planning and implementation, small business support, and community engagement at our small office in the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington, DC. 

Interns should:

  • Be enrolled in or have recently graduated from an undergraduate or graduate degree program;

  • Have demonstrated experience with and interest in neighborhood development, urban planning, events management, and/or digital marketing;

  • Be comfortable performing a wide range of tasks;

  • Be able to work 8-10 hours a week from the EMMS office for at least 10 weeks;

  • Be available to work some evenings/weekends; and

  • Be eager to learn and actively engage with the organization.

Available Internships:

  • ​Fall 2019: Digital Marketing

  • Fall 2019: Development and Events

  • Winter/Spring 2020: Digital Marketing

  • Winter/Spring 2020: Small Business Development
