Check out Volunteer Capitol Hill!
EMMS is excited to participate in Volunteer Capitol Hill this year!
Volunteer Capitol Hill is an annual event designed to showcase a wide variety of opportunities for volunteer service. It was established in 2013 by the Old Naval Hospital Foundation to celebrate the extraordinary contributions made by Nicky and Steve Cymrot to the Capitol Hill community over a period of forty years. The event benefits nonprofit organizations by helping them recruit potential volunteers as well as network with other nonprofits, and it benefits members of the community by helping them match their skills and interests to the needs of the organizations. In this way, Volunteer Capitol Hill honors Steve and Nicky Cymrot’s vision of a lively community of engaged, mutually supportive individuals and organizations.
We invite you to join us on April 29, 2017, for this unique event, and to play a greater role in the vitality of our community!

Volunteer Capitol Hill is a great example of how community events can connect people with organizations that need their skills, time, and enthusiasm. By bringing nonprofits and potential volunteers together, the event encourages stronger local relationships and meaningful participation. That sense of getting involved and taking on a challenge also connects loosely with SoFlo Wheelie Life, where active participation and practice are central to the experience.
Volunteer Capitol Hill serves as a bridge between people eager to contribute and organizations in need of support, GeoGuessr reinforcing a culture of mutual assistance, active participation, and shared responsibility within the community.
