He served on the staff at George Mason University’s Community Business Partnership; and served as Director of the Business Incubation Center (2012-2013) and Director of the South Fairfax Small Business Development Center (2013-2015) before being named as Director of the Veterans Business Outreach Center from 2015 to 2019. He is a highly sought-after speaker and storyteller. Charles has a B.S. in History, Technology and Society from Georgia Tech, an M.S. in Operations Research from the Naval Postgraduate School, and an MBA from George Mason University. He is a 2013 graduate of the Leadership Fairfax Institute (LFI) and is working towards his PhD in Socioeconomics.

“I am thrilled and honored to have been selected as the next Executive Director of Eastern Market Main Street,” said Charles after a unanimous vote by the Board of Directors. “Eastern Market is such an amazing community rich in history with a vibrant business environment. I look forward to working with all of our partners to continue making the Eastern Market community a place for people to live, work and play.”
